Cascais Retreat

THE PROJECT SOUGHT TO CREATE GREATER INTEGRATION IN THE SOCIAL AREA

This project was designed for a family made up of a Canadian couple and two teenage children. The clients had a house that was in good condition but needed changes to the internal layout to adapt to the family’s needs and a more modern lifestyle.

It was necessary to create greater integration in the social area, with an open-plan kitchen and the repositioning of the toilet to the space under the existing staircase, where there had previously been a storage room. In addition, the interior design project for the bedrooms was also developed, as well as the design of planned furniture for these rooms.

THE CONCEPT WAS BASED ON INTEGRATING THE CLIENT'S ECLECTIC COLLECTION OF ART, FURNITURE AND ACCESSORIES WITH PIECES ACQUIRED BY OUR OFFICE

We created a project based on a colour palette that was both vibrant and very consistent in order to create this integration. Through a bold colour palette, we were able to establish a common thread that unified all the elements of the project, giving them coherence and purpose in each space.

We developed the entire project using the User Centred Design method, in which our main objective is to meet the client’s needs, guaranteeing not only a successful aesthetic result, but also offering functionality, comfort, ergonomics and convenience.
